This is the Battlestar Atlantia

Well, it took a month of work, but it's finally finished!  My build of the Moebius Battlestar Galactica model kit, constructed as the flagship of the fleet, the Battlestar Atlantia:

Here's a quick summary of the build:
After priming the whole thing in Gunship Grey, I brush-painted the raised armor panels in Sky Grey. Here's a work-in-progress picture.

 Base coloring is complete!

I love this angle and lighting!

Very reminiscent of this shot from the episode Resurrection Ship:

The next step was highlighting the raised edges of the ribbing, and painting on the green stripes with masking tape.  The hardest part was freehanding the green circle around the colonial emblam on the top of the ship.

I also used Paragrafix's wonderful metal photoetched set of guns and nameplates.  The guns are visible here, as well as the Atlantia name plate.

On the underside of the ship you can also see the green striping, as well as the guns in the bow and underside of the ship.

I also painted windows inside the "mouth" section!

The ship came out beautifully and Moebius makes a wonderful model kit that I highly recommend!
